"It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live." -Albus Dumbledore

"When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid."

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” ~Marianne Williamson

I have always enjoyed art, in almost any form, so I strive to see all art to the fullest it can be! Thus, I try to love people, God's greatest art of all! I just hope that I can always see the beauty, even when it might be flawed, for I would want the same from those who see me!

Spirit's Elemental!

Journal Entry: Wed Aug 20, 2014, 9:10 AM
Well, I did it and now have a new favorite book!

Yesterday, I finished Mirrasae's newly completed novel, Spirit's Elemental. I would've finished it sooner, but working 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week, makes it hard to get things done sometimes! Especially when you have a schedule that changes constantly and lots of demands of your time. But finish it I did, and I can honestly say, that out of all of her novels, this is my favorite by far (which is quite a feat, since I've loved every single one). And I don't just say this because she's my family. She's a great writer, and though she's always learning new things, and has to figure out new ways to do things, writing has always come naturally to her.

It comes to it; This book was amazing! It was an easy writing style to follow, and though there are always big words when it's comes to Mel's novels, it was easy on my brain, yet by no means for simple-minded people.  It had a nice steady pace to it and the character development was true to each one and real.  Each character had a secret to share, and rather then be overwhelmed or bored by the idea of each character having to reveal said secrets, I found myself excited to learn what they were keeping from me. I found myself guessing their motives. Who were the real villains? How would it conclude?

The characters were also very endearing, even in their problems. Filled with great quotable lines, and never a moment without a deep thought, the main character, Lekore, was one of the biggest joys to read about and from the perspective of. He was so full of truth and even though he was naive in certain things, it never took away from his character and I came to love them all, even the ones that were meant to be hated. I found myself watching their journey and trying to see them like I'd want someone to see me.

I won't give the story away for anyone who's interested in reading it in the future! I just hope you'll give it a chance if the time allows. I DREAMED about this book, and that only happens with things that won't leave my head, even at the end of the day. Things that mattered somehow!

So, anyway, I've said my piece. I hope I didn't bore anyone, but I had to give my thoughts! Read her works, she's a great fantasy writer and will someday be famous, so read her stuff now and then you can claim you read it before all the fame, yeah? :giggle:

Thanks for taking the time to read this (if you did) and have a great day!

Thank you all!

Until Next Time!

you are most kind
what would you like to know?
most of the stuff I learned from youtube and blogs, rest is a result of experimenting. it takes more patience than any real skill once you get a hold of basics. one real tip I have is read the descriptions under cakes - many people (including me) write what they're made of. and it's so much easier to google it with name like 'fondant' than 'that white stuff that goes on wedding cake' ;P

Thanks for the tips! That does help already! I'd like to know where to get fondants and all of the tiny little things people use on cakes. I know some people use candy and such, but where do you get the supplies, like the silver and gold fondant/frostings, etc. Does that make sense?
